Import from Apps
Use Import from apps when your existing materials are still organized inside another product and you want Second Me to convert them into materials.
The in-product import window gives the step-by-step instructions for each source. This page explains how to choose a source, what each import path means, and what to expect after the import finishes.
Choose a Source
Second Me supports app imports from sources such as Notion, Apple Notes, Evernote, X, Flomo, and Get. Availability may vary by language, region, or account state.
| Source | Best for | How the import works | Main expectation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Notion | Structured pages, plans, research notes, project knowledge | Authorize Notion and select pages | Page content is converted into materials; databases and complex blocks may change shape |
| Apple Notes | Local notes stored in the macOS Notes app | Export notes with Exporter, then upload a ZIP package | Import quality depends on the exported Markdown files |
| Evernote | Notebook migration from Evernote | Export a notebook as multiple HTML pages, then upload a ZIP package | Text is imported as material content; rich resources may become attachments |
| X | Recent public posts that reflect your opinions, interests, or public voice | Enter a username | Imports recent public posts only, not a full historical archive |
| Flomo | Short memos and daily fragments | Upload a ZIP package exported from Flomo | Memos are imported as lightweight personal materials |
| Get | Notes and saved resources in Get | Upload a ZIP package exported from Get | Supported note content and resources are converted into materials |
App Import vs. Batch File Upload
Use app import when the source app has a special export format or authorization flow that Second Me understands. This is usually better than manually uploading random files from the same app, because the importer can preserve more structure from the source package.
Use Batch upload files instead when you have already curated the content into PDF, Markdown, TXT, Word, PowerPoint, images, audio, or a simple ZIP archive.
Import Results
App imports run as background tasks. After the task starts, you can close the import window and continue using Second Me.
The progress view shows processing, successful, and failed items. A partially failed task can still create materials from the items that succeeded.
Imported app content is a one-time snapshot. It does not stay synced with the original app unless the product explicitly says so for that source.
Common Issues
- The result looks different from the original app. App data models do not always map cleanly to material text. Databases, embedded blocks, rich formatting, and attachments may be simplified.
- Some items are missing. The source export or authorization may not include every item. Check permissions, export scope, and whether the item is supported by that source guide.
- The same content is skipped. Duplicate detection may skip items that were already imported.
- The task takes a long time. Large exports and rich attachments can take several minutes to parse.
- A ZIP import fails. Keep the original exported folder structure unchanged. Renaming files or moving folders can prevent the importer from matching content and attachments.
